I and others will soon announce a large grassroots campaign aimed at channeling the amazing desire for change that Americans are feeling right now into tangible and fundamental reform of our political system.

Tonight, as Americans have decided they would prefer Obama to McCain as their next president there is a sigh of relief, and disbelief, in many quarters in the Middle East, including in Iran.

Because everyone knows posing naked is the best way to gain status/earn respect/help push the women's movement forward, Time Out New York is allowing readers to view (clothed) snapshots of everyday women and vote on who they most want to see in the buff.

I simply will not tolerate another stolen vote and election, tantamount to a sentence of another four-to-eight years of Hell, because we haven't been vigilant and done our jobs.

'm trying very hard to keep from gloating inwardly about Al Franken's plight, since, from Election Day, 2004, he has always pointedly denied the evidence of fraud by the Republicans.

J. Kenneth Blackwell, whose administration of the '04 election made Katherine Harris look like Mary Tyler Moore, is pushing to become chair of the RNC. I support his selection wholeheartedly.
Arianna Huffington, 11.07.2008
We are witnessing a tremendous ideological shift among young voters -- one that could reshape our politics for decades to come.

British bookmaking site Betfair had all 50 states right in 2004. As did rival site Intrade. As one gambler told me, "A pollster can still bill for an inaccurate poll. Bookmakers must make an accurate line or they lose -- period."
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast, 10.28.2008
While Republicans had the media searching for links between Obama and ACORN, RNC operatives were busily completing one of the most massive voter suppression and purging efforts in American history.
David Henry Sterry, 11.04.2008
McCain didn't even write his memoir. And the book reads like it was written by the captain of the football team who had the smart kid do it for him.

At a time when virtually the entire American establishment -- political, military, media, financial -- is corrupt, Caroline Kennedy appears untainted.
David Paulsen, 10.26.2008
Convince them, as the children of several former Republican Governors convinced their parents to come out for Obama, as GenJoneser Caroline Kennedy's GenY kids moved her from Hillary to Barack.

I can't vote for Tom personally, but I will see if the information about the special election will be posted on the Overseas Vote Foundation's site for military and expatriate Americans. This is someone who needs to be in Congress!
This is an exciting announcement. Now more than ever, we need people in Congress who represent the hopes and dreams of working people, and can help create a sustainable economy that supports us all.
How does one "loose touch" with something?
I think you've overreached with this line:
"In a district that has had one disastrous representative after another-- Rostenkowski, Blagojevich, ***Emanuel, each either in jail or destined to wind up in one***-- it would be refreshing to wind up at the very top of the food chain for a change."
Tom Geoghegan is the type of true progressive that will give Barack Obama the congressional support he'll need to accomplish his agenda. He's been involved in so many crucial causes over the years. This is a tremendous opportunity for all of us who want to see real progress made in the next few years.
I only found out about Tom Geoghegan in the last few weeks. But since that time, I've learned enough to convince me he's the best person for this seat. Let's do what we can to make Tom Geoghegan the newest member of Congress.
