Mad Men is the New Sex and the City
If you're still not quite over Sex and The City, you might want to think of Betty as what Charlotte York might have been had she come of age in the late 1950's/early 1960's.

Two weeks ago the NY Times discussed the lack of films coming out that have women in significant roles. I find it easy to reconcile my feminism and my love for movies on this one.
Post-Carrie, we can't turn a page, web or paper, without reading about a young woman over-sharing details about her love life, while male writers dominate the "thought leader" magazines.
I have had many close male friends over the years, and have therefore become somewhat of an expert on the question of male-female friendships - which is exactly why I am so skeptical about it.
Hear my recent interview with star of the new Sex and The City movie, Sarah Jessica Parker.
A spokesman for New Line Cinema said that the film grossed $55 million over the weekend but that Mr. Colton was the only heterosexual man known to have seen it.
Next Friday movie theaters better be stocked with Diet Coke and Twizzlers, because the ladies are coming to town. Women everywhere are counting the minutes and seconds.
In my interview with her, Candace Bushnell talks about the economics of marriage, what Sarah Palin has taught us, and whether Carrie and Mr. Big will find happiness in wedlock.
In the SATC movie, there's a scene where Carrie cautions Charlotte's daughter not to buy into the old Cinderella fairytale. My concern is for women who buy into this new Cinderella rewrite.
The irony is that this fun musical about a wedding bucks every Hollywood convention, making Mamma Mia one of the most feminist movies of the year -- way more so than SATC.
As of today, there are two women-centric films -- Sex and the City and Mamma Mia! -- in the top 10 at the box office for the year.
Last week a mix of water and sanitation experts gathered for World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden to mull over the world's biggest public health crisis. The problem is that not enough people paid attention.

Jane Austen died an unmarried virgin at the age of 41 -- was she really qualified to give sex tips to the modern girl?
Nothing incites a woman's opinion more quickly than when you bring up the topic of a Stilettos. We all have a passion for them - whichever way our passions lay.
While Sex & the City features appearances from the likes of Candace Bergen and Andre Leon Talley, What's Your Point, Honey?, a documentary, gives us cultural icons such as feminist leader and founder of Ms. Magazine, Gloria Steinem.

Excuse me, does this belong to you?
This wins the award for most trivial item posted on Huffington Post to-date.
Made me think of Austin Powers' "moley moley moley moley."
Who cares? Following movie stars is a pathetic hobby, and giving any regard to their latest plastic surgery is good evidence that it may be time to take your own life.
You notice the missing mole and not the nose job? Too funny! I adore Sarah Jessic and I applaud all self improvement. Way to go , Sarah J. You look Marvelous!
Damn straight! She looks great.
And self-improvement of any sort should never be bashed! I've had cancer and can tell you that no cancer survivor who's been scarred or disfigured would even question making improvements.
Well, here is a story to make you glad not to be famous, eh? The mole? Cute on a kid, but as an old lady myself, that mole was creeping towards a crone sterotype doncha think? And... ? Get a life.
Hey, you're as young as you feel old lady.
